Eat: Basking in the sun at Bambalan Bristol

Bambalan, Bristol, halloumi, salad
Back in July (where did that sunshine go!??!) I went out for lunch with my dad at newish restaurant, Bambalan, a North African and Mediterranean eatery started by the team behind my favourite swanky secret cocktail bar Hyde & Co.

Opening back in May on the first floor of The Colston Tower, don't be fooled by the less than swish exterior, the restaurant has had a gorgeous refurbishment inside and also features three outdoor terraces spaces to sit at. Only one was open when we visited though and I think we drew the short straw as unfortunately it was the smallest and shadiest of the three with a pretty rubbish view of a junction...

Bambalan, Bristol,
I wasn't massively ravenous (for a change!) so I chose a salad which was colourful and delicious but definitely a little bit steep at £8.50 for basically two pieces of halloumi and some leaves.

My dad went for the lamb pide, a type of turkish flatbread pizza, which aside from the dead animal filling looked really yummy! It was only a fiver with a special lunchtime deal so I'd like to try the vegetarian versions if I visit for food again.

I've been out to Bambalan since for drinks with friends and can attest to the fact that the cocktails are great and inexpensive... my favourite is the moonshine lemonade!
