eat : Byron Burgers comes to Bristol

The other week I was lucky enough to be invited for a meal at the new Byron Burger on the Clifton Triangle in order to review it for WesternEye. This is Byron's first Bristol location but it's already a popular chain across the capital.

As a vegetarian I am aware that I am not exactly the target audience for a burger restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that Byron not only catered for us veggies with an option on their burger menu, but also with a couple of salad options.

I chose the burger, which consisted of a grilled Portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, goat’s cheese, baby spinach, tomato, red onion and aioli nestled inside a soft bun with a gherkin on the side. The combination was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, even with chips on the side, it definitely wasn’t filling enough and not worth the long wait and £8 price tag. However, I thought the staff were lovely and the rustic, American diner chic feel was charming and sophisticated. I would definitely consider going back to try something else.

You can read the full review, including what Madalina thought of it on the WesternEye website here.

Last weekend my glitter partner Oriel and I went to Bournemouth to work at The Block Party for a fellow glitter company, Miss Lippy. We'd never been to Bournemouth before so we decided to see the sights in the afternoon before work and we braved the wind and the rain for a walk down the beach.

Shop Dutty, photo shoot & feature

Shop Dutty, Bristol, graffiti, Puckoo Couture,

A few weeks ago I helped to organise a fashion shoot to go with an article I wrote for WestWorld about the ladies who run Shop Dutty in Stokes Croft. Here is my selection of favourite pictures from that day and you can read the full feature on the WesternEye website. It includes some words of wisdom about how Joh & Louisa got into the fashion industry and what to do if you're thinking about starting your own business.

lady crush : Kate Nash X The Pulp Zine

Came across these pictures the other day and I had to share them with you!

The wonderful photography/collage mash-up is the work of photographer Natalie Neal and artist Pamela Loredo Sustaita for The Pulp Zine which is run by a collective of super talented babes and covers fashion, art, music and everything in-between.

What's more, this newly blonde bombshell is Kate Nash!! I used to be the biggest Kate Nash fan ever ever ever... to the extent that in year 10 when we had to do presentations to the class on a subject of our choosing - mine was on Kate Nash. Here's my favourite old song of hers so you can have a little reminisce.
