covered in snow.

winter was on us, at the end of my nose... and i'll never love england more than when covered in snow...

I've been sort of trying to keep to my new years resolutions this week and I thought that the recent and unfortunately short-lived snow would be a great opportunity to take some photos. Instead I spent the whole time we were out chucking myself down a hill on a makeshift sledge (a ripped Topshop bag)... oh well! It was pretty fun and was worth the lack of pictures I got and the cold toes. We went for a couple of ciders at Start the Bus afterwards which was nice and cosy. Have any of you other brits been having fun snow times?

hand made book covers.

Recently I've been deleting a few of my really early blog posts but I thought I'd give a few of them a bit of a revamp to show all of my new followers! This blog was originally more geared towards d.i.y projects and things so expect to see more bits and bobs that I've made soon... I love nicely covered books so here's some that I've made as presents. I'm also trying to inspire myself into getting crafty again this year as I haven't been so motivated while living in halls.

travel log: I made this for my friend Claire when she left to go travelling of six months. I love using free-stitch on a sewing machine, I think the outcome is so pretty! Inside I stuck a little map for her to record where she's been as well as an address book at the back.

college log book: This was my log book when I was doing my art foundation last year (feels like so long ago!!) The needle on the front is made out of an old map :)

home made embroidered diary gift

diary: I made this one for my friend Jessica for christmas last year, she took this picture and you can find her blog here.

What do you think? Did you make any christmas presents this year? I really need to get back into sewing, hopefully I'll be able to lug my sewing machine up to halls at some point soon!

its a new year!

Happy new year everybody! Hope everybody has had a wonderful christmas and fantastic new years celebrations! What did you get up to? 2012 was a pretty crazy year for me and I plan to do even more in 2013. I've put together a rough list of my general resolutions and plans for the year.

This is generally about university... I want to try harder at all my assignments, stop neglecting my blog, maybe try and get some work experience at a magazine!

Both physically and mentally. I do absolutely no exercise, go out three times a week, live on a diet of cheese and carbs and surround myself in clutter and mess... So I plan to do something about it.
Most critically to this is getting a job! Then after that planning a wonderful summer full of fun & travel!

I live in one of the UK's most vibrant cities and I've hardly explored it at all so I really want to get out and about and take more pictures like I used to. I also want to read more, sew more, draw more and generally do more and be creative and get out of bed!

Have any of you got any resolutions? I'd love to see links if you've done blog posts about them.

p.s Do you like the cheeky asos unitard I wore on new years eve? I want to wear it everyday!
